Why live in Docklands, Melbourne ?

As everyone knows, i live in Melbourne at the moment.
and i want to tell you more about : Why Melbourne?
Australia is a great country. So many places to go and visit, so why am i back here?
Well, first of all, Melbourne is one of the biggest city, most popular in Australia after Sydney. It's been the most liveable city in the world for years.
But i'm certain you know that already. I mean you wouldn't be reading this not knowing how great this southest metropole is, right?
Let me tell you more about our day-to-day live, living in Docklands CBD, MELBOURNE :
- Living in Docklands has a few perks : no traffic sounds, no pubs or house parties around us as most of the people living here are couples or families. We have the Harbour of the Yarra River just down the building, which is great for romantic strolls !
- Docklands is situated IN THE FREE TRAM ZONE, which means we can go to the CBD for free and as many times we want. Plus, we have a 5 differents trams running next to us : 70 and 75 to Flinders Street, 86 to Bourke Street, 30 to La Trobe Street, and 35 ''the City Circle'' goes either to Flinders Street or La Trobe Street. That's covering the all CBD!
As explain above, we're really close to CBD, and yet we don't find the craziness of the city! My girlfriend is very foody, always hungry, so having the city proximity is really helping me. We're at 20mins Tram to any restaurants she likes, less than 10min walk to the closest WoolWorth supermarket, or the 2 convenience stores just down the building.
We have the District Docklands at 5min walk, which is a new mall with every retail store we like. If that not enough, DFO is really close too, amd that's the biggest and cheappest in CBD. More details with Mika's article about DFO Mall
That's why we choose Docklands for our first time living together !
